So we're sure you've noticed that Episode 318 has yet to follow Episode 317. You are correct. Mike and Chewie hopped on to explain what happened. To make it up to you, we've included the outtakes from the recording of Episode 317's commercials. Some of these are pretty funny, so we hope you enjoy! The first video on The Mana Pool's YouTube channel is now up, you should go check it out! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQcc9e-sxI4

Following a week off to prepare for the insanity that was Grand Prix Richmond, here is the GP Richmond episode! It's just Chewie and Mike from the standard-issue dorks, so to help us out we brought on two special Richmond dorks! First up is our (very) old pal, Level 3 Judge, podcaster, and horrible person Bryan Prillaman! You might remember him from the Avant-Card Show back in the day or his current podcasting deal, JudgeCast. Our second guest dork is Corvin Powell, a LONG-TIME listener we met in Richmond. He was pretty awesome and he was playing a deck running Mike's favorite unplayed Modern-legal card. We spent the entire episode talking all about the insane event. We had Mike and Corvin talking about their Death Cloud decks. Prillaman explained how the logistics of such a crazy event work. Chewie and Mike told us all about the friends and listeners we met while we were there. We even took a few minutes to talk about the whole image gallery that has become known as CrackGate, so keep an ear out for that.

Well, here it is. We've been at it virtually nonstop for six years. We started 300 (plus) episodes ago in November of 2007 and haven't looked back. And that's the reason for this episode! We've actually never looked back, and that's ridiculous. So this episode is all about the past. It starts with a look back at the various firsts and notable things we've done, be it segments or popular episodes or whatever. Then we've got to discuss all the various and sundry guests we've had on the show over the years (yes, all of them). Almost a full third of our episodes have involved a guest host of some sort after all. We finish it all up with the first actual look at our annual bizarre reality-twisting episodes. We hope you guys enjoy this. It's pretty light on Magic content, but it's loaded with plenty of fan service, nostalgia, and nonsense. Thanks for everything! Since Grand Prix Las Vegas just completely destroyed the record for largest Magic event ever, it is a fine time to revisit the previous holder of that record, GP Charlotte. Of course Chewie was there, armed as always with his trusty digital recorder, his wits, and spare batteries. He and his fellow dorks concocted this edition of the Three Questions once they arrived in Charlotte, sitting in Buffalo Wild Wings actually. Once the Questions were decided, all that was left was to go out and hit people over the head with them. |

You've waited all this time, and now it is finally here...again. Chewie went to Grand Prix Charlotte armed with his trusty digital recorder, his wits, and spare batteries. After he stopped and bought them on the way. He and his fellow dorks concocted this edition of the Three Questions once they arrived in Charlotte, sitting in Buffalo Wild Wings actually. Once the Questions were decided, all that was left was to go out and hit the people over the head with them. And hit them he did! This show represents those that answered the Questions on Saturday, which was Day 1 of GP Charlotte. You probably knew that from the title though. Judges, listeners, some of Chewie's local players, and big-name pros all heard the Questions and answered them. Stay tuned for GP Charlotte's Sunday coming soon, and after that the GP Pittsburgh edition!

This show represents those that answered the Questions on the Friday of GP Charlotte. You probably knew that from the title though. Not one, but TWO guest hosts join us for this episode! Everyone's old favorite Eric (of the Many Names) resurfaces to shoot the breeze and drink Southern Comfort while recording with us. The other host is Joseph A, better known as Khaos Kontrol (to Chewie anyway, who kept just calling him Khaos) on our forums. You know, the guy that wrote the awesome poem that we featured a while back on Episode 226. He also did a CMDR Decks video that you might recognize if you hang around on The Mana Pool at all. But because of those things (and he's got a podcast coming up sometime soon), we had him on to help spread the joy around. We kick off the episode by opening up a package from Tim (@planar_snap ), one of our favorite listeners from the UK. That's vague, lemme rephrase. He's from the UK, and he's one of our favorite listeners. Much better. But he sent us a package with stuff in it, which was opened on the air. And HOLY CRAP what stuff we got! If you want to find out what, you'll have to listen. Tim, we really appreciate all of it. You really didn't have to do that. Damn. Then of course there's all that other stuff that happened. The Commander/EDH bannings, the Standard (non) bannings, and the Legacy unbanning all happened. Then we had to talk about the Magic 2013 promo cards that they revealed, and Mike noticed something we've been missing for the last several months. How about that? From there we cover the rest of the M13 previews of course. Commander Ban List Update - http://mtgcommander.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12073 From there we have to talk about Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013, which had JUST come out the day we recorded this. Then Khaos (I mean Joseph) has another poem that he wrote for us for having him on the show. Hell yeah epic background music! There's also some random discussion of things that I only barely remember as well as some very important, very somber, and very true advice. So listen up! Also, here's the link to the trailer for Wreck-It Ralph. Holy crap this looks like fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btB8tb8fLYM

Pay no attention to the image on the right. This is NOT what we meant when we said that Brian created a Cube of Magic cards. Although that is pretty freakin' cool over there. Yeah, check that out.
*Ahem* Here is the list of cards in Brian's cube, separated by color. Feel free to peruse and offer feedback and comments in the forums. The Cube episode was Episode 29 - To the Third Power (Cubed), and the link to the forum thread can be found here: http://cardshark.freeforums.org/episode-29-to-the-third-power-cubed-t180.html And for those of you who'd rather have a table than a list, here's where the Word file with the Cube is currently being held: http://media.libsyn.com/media/themanapool/Brians_Cube.doc White Exalted Angel Mageta the Lion Glory Savannah Lions Blinking Spirit Divine Presence Second Sunrise Delaying Shield Pulse of the Fields Intervention Pact Pristine Angel Oracle’s Attendants Solar Tide Weathered Bodyguards Tivadar of Thorn Glarecaster Akroma’s Vengeance Knight of the Holy Nimbus Charmed Griffin Heavy Ballista Crowd Favorites Gallantry To Arms! Hey everybody! I just thought I'd let everyone know that there won't be a new episode of The Mana Pool for a week or so. Two of your hosts, including myself who is the one who does all the uploading and whatnot, are going on a week-long vacation to Walt Disney World. We're leaving tomorrow and I'll be back next Wednesday. Brian has a second bit of vacation after that, so he won't be back until the following Sunday.
If you've been enjoying the show, please go check out the forums. I have a small questionnaire posted there that I'd like as many of you as possible to answer. It's a series of questions involving some concerns I've had since I started doing the show several months ago. I'd like you guys to answer honestly and give me some real opinions. Once we get back, we're all going to go over all the answers we got and use those answers to shape the direction future episodes will take. Thanks a lot everyone!

In order to get this to the most people, I've decided to put this up on my RSS feed as well as send it to the boss at Cardshark. Inside you'll find anything you could ever want to know about going to the Prerelease. Included are tips for preparation, getting there, surviving once you get there, and actually playing. There's a quick tutorial on building your deck with a focus on the new set. I also give a rundown of mechanics new and old that will be in the set, along with a few tips for each one. I hope this is some help to you. Stay tuned for a new episode of The Mana Pool coming soon!

On the off chance anyone wants to help us out, here's the flyer my fabulous girlfriend and I designed (she did all the work, I watched in awe). If you'd like, you can print this out, make some copies, cut them out, and hand them out to people. Sure it's a large pain, but it's not so much pain that I'm not willing to put you guys through it. You know, if you want me to. Anyway, here it is. Thanks a lot if you decide to help!
